Introduction

Trigeminal autonomic cephalalgias

This group of primary headache disorders comprises cluster headache (CH), paroxysmal hemicrania (PH), short-lasting unilateral neuralgiform headache attacks with conjunctival injection and tearing (SUNCT) and short-lasting unilateral neuralgiform headache attacks with cranial autonomic symptoms (SUNA), and hemicrania continua (HC).

Sleep in the age of COVID-19

Since it was first identified in December 2019, most people in the world have felt the effects of the severe acute respiratory syndrome corona virus 2 (SARSCoV-2). Even those of us who have not experienced COVID-19 directly, have felt its impact. Our work schedules, social lives and exercise routines were drastically curtailed to help curb the spread of infections. Most of us had to remain in our homes to protect ourselves, vulnerable individuals, and society in general.

Alternative therapies in migraine

Alternative therapy is any treatment outside of “mainstream” medicine or standard medical practice. Commonly expressed older views on alternative therapies were that of “irregular practice” or “pseudoscience.” These views are changing as the last decade alone has seen a number of randomised controlled trials (RCT) and metanalyses to provide an evidence base for the safe and judicious use of alternative therapies in migraine treatment.

Novel and emerging therapies for migraine

Migraine is a neurological disorder with a substantial personal, social, and economic burden that affects 12 % of people. It is both common and disabling, ranking in the top 10 of most prevalent and disabling health conditions. This lifelong disorder, the most common cause of neurological disability, is the second leading cause of time lost to disability, after low back pain, in high- and middle-income countries
